BIWEEKLY Report
WEEK 1 ( 13-6-2022 to 4-7-2022)
Reflective journal serves as a means for teachers to candidly share their insights, feelings, emotions and ideas in a confident manner. Similar to a diary, it is meant to inspire reflection on events leading to both success and failure in the class room.
The second phase of teaching practice started on 13 June 2022 and I was very much excited and thrilled to attend the school. This time I again got the same class 9 B. There are 34 students in my class and I almost remember all of them. They were very happy to see me and I loved to be surrounded by those little kids. But they have the fear to use English language as they are not getting the proper exposure because from their childhood they are studying in Malayalam medium class. But every time I tried to make them comfort during the whole class by using a few malayalam words for their better comprehension. The first class was satisfactory. But I felt the need to improve my class management skills as well as I had to increase the student involvement in the class. Second class was also satisfactory. Some of them were not intersted to learn English language and they were distracted during the whole class. The time table was restructured and some periods are limited to 30 minutes. So I had to make the procedures faster.I got 3 classes on the third day and the students cooperated with me well and it helped me to take the class with confidence. We were able to conclude the chapter ' Learning the Game ' in the Game ' in the fourth class. The students actively and pleasantly attended the classes. On my eighth class I began a new chapter titled as 'Maternity'. I could see them empathize with the main character of the story. That made me happy. Because they were aware about the human sufferings and values. After our third semester exams we returned back to the college on the same day. I loved today's class.I have started using ppt from my nineth class and I found that the students are more interested to learn using ppt. So I have decided to make it permanent from my next class. On my tenth class I had to use some negative verbal reinforcement to some extent because some of tbe students were not ready to listen to the class and they were annoying other students. Today I taught them word pyramids. They loved it and constructed as many as possible. This two weeks was really a new experience for me and I really enjoying my role as a teacher.
